Bullet's 2007 Winter Projects

Bullet'* 2007 Winter Projects
Ok I know I've said that I won't be doing anything more to the Bullet but........
It'* an addiction
It'* a Bonneville addiction
I just can't leave it alone and now that I will have more time ( and more money :P ) I am compelled to play some more.
I was disappointed this year with the results from last years Gen 5 2006 winter project only gaining me a tenth in the quarter......but I know it was from lack of tuning since I actually lost 5 mph in the quarter.
So in that regard I have ordered a DHP Tuner. Got some learning to do, both me and the Bullet.
I also have some other plans that will unravel in due time.
(I have qualified for a free INTENSE Stage3 Heads ticket ) Wish me luck.
My target next season is 12'* and 165 mph.
Stay tuned.........
My primary project will be revolving around my 29 year old Formula Firebird (Yes I've owned it for that long). I will be pulling the 6.6 liter engine and transforming it into an 11 sec 150 mph torque beast.
Another sideline project will be with my Trans Am. It will be getting a suspension upgrade and beautification highlight. If I can sell it before my son turns 17 and gets his drivers license, it will help to finance my other projects and prevent him from an early demise.

I have been using the Trans Am, Black Betty, for work these last couple of weeks. Its power is addicting. Its cammed and headered and has a WS6 suspension package. A real Smokey and Bandit car.
Victor has been learning to drive in it and it'* hard to teach him not to spin the tires every time he takes off from a light. He is always trying ot mimick my four wheel drifting around corners.

I'm not sure the Bullet is ready for an INTENSE trans yet. It has VERY low miles on it, and has never had any issues. Remember that Paul runs an EP LSD as well.
Paul, how are you going to tune if you don't drive the car in bad weather?

Bill'* right. My trani is fresh and strong and has never had any issues, although it might when I'm done with the next round of mods to the engine.
Now that IS a good question.
I'll have to pick my days carefully.....but it will likely not be fully tuned until Feb/08 when the salt is gone off the roads. :(
That gives me plenty of time to play in the garage.

Good to see the addiction, it reminds the rest of us addicts that we aren't alone. 12'* should be within reach for your car easily.
Tuning is the cold weather is not optimum for running in the summer. You'll probably find as I am planning that I'll tune this winter to get oriented and learn the tuner for the true test of tuning in the summer.
