Default Question

I have found a GM performance crate motor for around 4 grand and was wondering what mods would have to be made, if any, to switch my na motor to the L32 and what the factory specs are against this motor with 260 hp and 280 lb-ft @ 3600 rpm

??? You have a crate motor? Whats to change? Also $4000 for a crate motor? Call Ed Morad and get a used motor for $600 and then spend the rest of the money on performance.

i agree, these engines are durable enough that finding a low mileage L67 for under a grand should be the only way to go...

I'll also agree....you can get a drivetrain for around 1200 usually from a junkyard...we are talking a L67 engine/trans/pcm and then spend 3200 getting it to work with your car/modding it.

Guys.. the question is what mods can be done to swap an L32 into the car. The poster isn't looking for used motor suggestions.

Sorry I can't help..I don't know the L32 well, however I think you'd need the engine harness and PCM.

the L32 is the GM Series 3 Supercharged motor

the L32 and the L67 are ALMOST exactly the same....the differences between the L32 and the L67 are as follows

the L32 has the Eaton Gen V supercharger
the L32 LIM is a sightly different design to accomidate the Gen V SC outlet
the L32 has a fly by wire throttle body
and the L32 connecting rods are beefier

from what i have read all other parts are the same from the L67 to the L32...

i believe that Ed Morad has the Wire harness for a L32 powered vehicle....

now my question would be ......is the crate motor complete?? as in does it have the SC and the TB...

the OTHER concern is what are you going to do with the trans?

NOW here are options

you can run the GEN V with a L67, Northstar or LS1 TB.....you will need a Adapter plate for the Northstar and the LS1 TB....what this will do for you is let you retain your factory throttle cables, and not have to deal with the fly by wire TB....and you will also need a Northstar or LS1 MAF to if you are using the respective TB'*....

Yes it has the GenV
The outlet of the LIM is about 1inch closer to the Pass. side
Drive by wire
Rods are "forged" so they say, however the S2 L67 rods still end up being stronger
05/06 heads have bigger valves

Otherwise, the S3 are identical, and some still say series 2 on the block

Thanks all but I guess I wont be doing any mods anytime soon. I crashed into a ditch last week and am waiting to see if it is totaled.
