Default Motor swap how too?

I know people have done it, I want to do. But how… For the ones who have, could you list what you had to do and how you did it? I myself understand the physical part fairly well, but not the wiring part.

My project has started as a 91 SE, I acquired a 98 SSEI for a donor car. Now I just need to be around to do it (I am stationed over seas in the Air Force), and the know-how. So please if you know anything about the process.

Get the factory service manuals for both cars.

Swap the whole front subframe witih the engine and trans from the 98 to the other car. The wiring harness and PCM are going to be tricky.

Frankly, if you've never done this before, it'* not going to be fun by any stretch of the imagination. And it'* not something that can be taught. It'* something you either have to experience, or just go with it.

If you've never even pulled a motor by yourself, this isn't something I'd suggest tackling.

The dealer will not print diagrams for you.

You need to buy the factory service manuals for BOTH cars. www.helminc.com is our common source for them.

You'll need to keep both manuals long-term.

I believe I have both the 91 and the 98 Service manuals here and available. I'll double check. Make me an offerr if you want them

Also search for Frankenbonne or frankenbonnie on here. You'll find writeups on how one member did it with is 90 SSE.

Default ok, but how

I have looked at what others have done, but what I am looking for more of the how. I know you have to rewire the engine harness, but what are the details? I would like to learn from other successes and problems. I have both factory manuals on there way here, so that will help. If I can repair wiring an F-16 I can do this, but I have better books and 15 years experience on that.
