It looks cool, and it really helps with flushing coolant, but if I were to do it again, I wouldn't do it. It only frees up like 5-10hp at WOT according to Todd.

$36 per hp isn't too bad.
Positives - cooling the engine with it not running, better cooling at low rpms or at idle, +10 hp
Negatives - does not flow as much as stock at higher rpms, risk of motor failure as well as seal failure.
Think about it. It'* a centrifugal pump turning at a constant 1800 rpm (I think) with a larger impeller than stock.
The stock pump runs at engine rpm.....1000 - 6000 rpm
Even with the larger impeller, it will not outflow the factory pump at speeds over say 3500 rpm.
Would I do it again. I don't know cause I only just installed one.
Let you know next year.

I had one installed for a few years but uninstalled it last year for my WCBF trip.
I just didn't want to take any chances dirving at least 800 miles at over 100*F outside because my car gets hot anyway.
I wanted the pump turning at engine speed. Becuase of my 369 gears at 86 mph my engine rpm'* are right at 3k.
If.. I would have attempted that trip with the elecric pump I truly believe I would have overheated my motor somewhere between Phoenix and Palm Springs.
If you live at or near the great white north... I'd go for it.
If you live in the south, I'd suggest against it.
For a track car, its awesome because when I had mine installed I could cool the car for another pass in about 6 minutes between that pump and the IC pump running while the car was off.

For a trackhound (which you USED to be) yes.
For a daily driver? I wouldn't. I haven't even bothered to see what I'd have to do to make it work on mine. I'm not interested.
Do a 5% or 10% underdrive pulley. I'd suggest a 5% if available, but you can always compensate by a lower fan turn-on temp in the PCM if only a 10% is available.

I'm surprised many of you don't recommend it. I also didn't know it is outflowed above 3000rpm.
Why is it untrustworthy for a daily driver? Its not like rpms go above 3000 when just cruising down the country roads or highway, but I could see a problem with many WOT'*.
Anyone else with a daily driver setup use this or is it race only recommended?
