Default Ebay cold air kits anyone have them?

I have seen these kits for like 15-30 Bucks on ebay that supposedly add power to your motor, has anyone bought one and used it?

If not from Ebay, where can I get a decent cold air intake setup? just want to do a little bit of mods to juice up the car a bit and keep it reliable for a daily driver.

Almost all of the ones that are advertised for a Bonne are too short to be effective, they let the filter get heat soaked and destroy volumetric efficiency.

Probably your best bet is the process contained in this thread:

The GOOD kits on eBay are few and far between. And don't be fooled by the price. Look at shipping.

Most shipping charges on those kits are another $30 or so, and the filter is a throwaway. So you'll still need another.

Not to mention the HARSH bend as opposed to the more gradual of the rice pipe...or the ADTR for that matter.

My CAI from EBay is off of a 2000 Dakota 5.2. Had to drill a AIT port and that was it. Even came with the right kinda sleeve for the TB. Then i bought the half heatshield from Pep Boys.

That heatshield isn't doing anything for you.

What should you look for in a heatshield?

Look for? If you look for a heatshield, you won't find one.

You need to MAKE one. Isolate the filter from engine bay heat.
