Default PC based OBD-II scanner

I'm looking at purchasing a PC based OBD-II scanner so I can pull/clear codes from the car and also get some good logging on how it'* actually running. What are some recommendations? Any that I should stay away from? Are there any "must-have" features that you all like that some of these might not have?

Thanks

Autotap is a good one for that. Not sure if it is still forsale, but there was a guy selling one on RegalGS.org for $195 shipped, which is a good price.

HP Tuners will not only allow you to clear DTC codes, but it will allow you to scan your car in real time (and logging) as well as be able to modify your PCM. You can find it on our site.

Thats the software I have but is very limiting and to be honest autotap is much better and worth the extra money. A better choice would be an Autoforce obd 2 scan Gauge for a tighter budget. Intense also sells these in their electrical dept.

Have you tried their ver 4 software yet? I'll be testing it out today.
