Torque converter bolts are not needed, as we'll probably be fine using the old ones.

The only thing that might be important from GM is the timing chain dampener. It would be smart to replace the one that'* in there, though it won't be the end of the world if we don't. See if you can get one here in time. If not, we'll just use the old one again.

Also, would it be smart for me to pick up a tranny filter?

Thomas, let me know when we can show up on Friday. Do you like soda, beer, smokes, or anything else while you're working? Let me know. Everyone else, please post anything else we're forgetting
I have never replaced a HB bolt, I can't imagine being able to break it or even strip it out in any way.
If your sure then I'll get it but i see no need at all.
I even have a spare laying around, I saw it last night.
Roger that timing chain dampner, I'll let you know.

I don't typically drink beer when its under 80*F. Basically, when its warm enough to sweat, I can drink beer but don't really and most likely wouldn't this weekend but thanks.
Don't smoke but if your asking, some live entertainment would be nice... :P If you could stop by ASU and pick up a car load of hotties, that could prove to be interesting.
Ok, jokes over, they'd just nag and whine until we took them home.
Later,

If you think the HB bolt is unnecessary, I won't argue. The less money I spend, the better! Doug and I just figured it might need a new one, but it'* not like they get screwed up when removing them. If you didn't order it yet, don't bother.

That bolt is big and strong. I wouldn't consider changing one until 5 remove/install cycles at least. Save the $. Use Thomas'* spare if you REALLY need to.

Let'* talk about start times....

I am planning on taking a half day Friday.
Bob & Ben, what time do you guys want to get started?
Do you work Friday Bob? Ben?
Someone is coming from out of town? His name is?

I'd like to open the garage doors around 1:30 and pull my cars out and get organized.

Has anyone pulled an engine from the bottom without a lift?

Nobody from out of town is coming that I know of :?

Engine out the bottom? By separating the subframe?

Yes, droping the subframe, that'* how GM installed it.
Just wondering, it would be alot faster to drop it out the bottom.
