The EGR feed isn't in the cast manifold. It'* in the tubular rear manifold.

And EGR has alot more to do with keeping combustion temps down that it does with emissions.

If the area around the weld at the EGR is prone to failure, you weld in a boss or use better material for that piece (thicker).

NOT impressed with Pacesetters customer service thus far.

I filled out the Contact form on their website last Tuesday the 22nd. On Thursday the 24th I got this email back from them.

Thank you for contacting Pacesetter Performance Products, please call or
email with any questions you might have.

Thank you,
Pacesetter

I immediately sent him a link to this thread with questions on how to proceed. I didnt hear anything on Friday, and then gave them the grace of the weekend and Monday since it was Memorial Day. On Tuesday, after still not hearing from them, I called a rep by the name of Joe Lee. I told him who I was and I questioned whether he got my email or not. He was confused and put me on hold, for 5-6 minutes! Finally another person picked up the phone and asked if I had been helped. I had to reexplain the situation. I did not hear anything as of today, so I shot another email this afternoon, and I am still waiting for a reply.

I would really like to get these damn headers cleaned up!

that is rediculous. How can you expect to become a competitior in the 3800 market if your not willing to help out. When it comes time for me to buy headers for both my cars i will not be buying from them if they can not help you out, and i certainly will not send any business there way.

Andrew..

I understand your frustration in working through what appears to be issues on your headers. However..97 gtp sedan replied here in your thread and IIRC is a Pacesetter employee. Looks like you have had some direct contact since Thursday.

My suggestion is keep your cool, work through it and then make your judgements/comments about the company at a later time when you can give the most information as to tne entire situation.

you should have gotten a email from joe yesterday , if its not in your inbox check the spam folder

as ive mentioned , id put them on and run them , whether you use our gaskets or the stockers , id put a light ring of ultra copper silicone on both sides of the gasket

id say that reguardless of how your flange looks , which to me doesnt look like you should have any issues with it , other than looks which you wont see when its installed

and with these headers , ive yet to see a set that have had any welds , joints go bad (as im knocking on my wood desk , LOL)

and as i mentioned the picture of the y-pipe section the 3" hole with the 3 bolt flange is the outlet , so that little gap/lip isnt gonna hurt any of the exhaust flow
