I have to know...is there really a gain in power with the extended tube type air filter?
If so, I've got to do it.
How much of a gain?
Is there an 'intake noise' that goes with it? and I mean that in a good way...

You should definitely notice a difference in the sound of your engine. Ive had a number of people tell me that my car sounded like its balls grew a bit after putting the intake on. As for overall feel, theres a good possibillity that you will notice an increase in performance. I did. I would reccommend getting a cone type filter (preferrably K&N) even if you arent looking for performance gains. They are better overall filters than the ones that come stock with the car in every aspect that I can imagine. Sure they might seem a bit more expensive but remember that theyre re-usable. Check out the cardomain link in my signature to see mine if youre looking for ideas. If your interested, I put together sort of an instruction sheet on how I did it and I can email it to ya. Also if you (or anybody else for that matter) want to see more pictures of mine I'd be more than happy to post a few more.

Tube Intake
Any time you can increase air flow to an engine, it will result in increased HP. The K&N filter with the SC sounds sweet because you get back to the blower sound. Now increase the speed of the blower with a smaller pulley and this thing really screams. Very noticeable increase. Not to mention the Sound Value of the Blower winding up...
