thank you so much that helps a lot i have plenty of autozones to choose from around my house... does autozone carry the fan switches too because i want to run a 160 stat because i dont use heat much in the winter anyways and the summer in St. Louis is HOT AND HUMID you guys know that i'm sure... and then i'll probibly just put the 104'* in there since i can get them at autozone and don't have to pay for shipping i wont mind gettin them every year... also can i do most of these jobs myself? and do you know if i can get a hypertech stage 2 chip at autozone or would you guys just suggest the original chip to put in (or is there really even a diff. between the regular chip from hypertech and the stage 2)???? thanks again you guys are a lot of help

Can you put "1993 SSEi" in your signature?

I wasn't aware that Hypertech had a chip for the 93 SSEi. Jet used to, but I don't know if they do any more. I'll be selling mine soon, but it'* already spoken for.

sorry yeah i will put that on my signature... and i'm not sure if this is for the bonneville i did a directory type thing on this site and it came up so i dunno it says something about bonneville 305 lg4 so i dunno here is the site

http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/HYP11352.htm

by the way i just got back from autozone and bought autolite 104'* and a 180* t-stat... nobody carries a 160 anymore i guess i will have to buy one from the site listed above if i decide to get one i'm not sure if i should yet because in the summer you guys said it would be hard for the cooling to keep up enless i have a manual fan switch... couldn't find one but they had manual toggle switches that could be hooked up to pretty much anything they said like 50 volts maybe what you guys think abou that?

also any forums on how to put the t-stat in

thanks again

You don't have a 305. You have a 231 (or 3800). So no, that chip won't work for you.

You do the switch yourself. Do a search on this forum for 'fan override'. Check the box for 'all terms' and select willwren as the author in the Performance and Brainstorming forum. There'* at least a dozen how-to'* posted on it.

For the thermostat change, get Chilton'* #28200 or similar. You should have at least a basic service manual.

I personally wouldn't run a 160. I run a drilled 180 instead.

Try this link for the chip (you'll have to call the number):

Last I saw the Stage 2 chip was 220-something. I'll probably sell for half price plus shipping. But one member does have dibs. We'll see if I'm going to need it depending on the direction I end up going in the next month or two. Don't mess with the stage 1.

i found a stage 2 on summit racing for 93 SSEi for 159 thats pretty decent i would say... also on the drilled t-stat you think i would be good with that in st. louis and how do you drill them? just along the outside? and since i have a 180 would i still need a manual fan switch or not? thanks

Search is your friend:

The holes in this pic are 1/8". That'* too large. Do four 1/16 holes. In colder climates, do only 2.
