Default getting some head

Okay. Simple question. Will the heads off of a series 1 work on a series 2 block? I've got a S2 that needs some head work. A performance parts dealer in my area just bought a machine shop and they have a set of S1 heads laying around. The heads are all done up. New valves, springs, guides, the works. They deal mostly with V8s, so they don't really have anything to use the heads on except as door stops maybe. So, if they will work on my car, I'm sure that I can pick them up pretty cheap.

They will not work. The valve sequence and port spacing is totally different.

Hey Glorkar,
What is the shop asking for the heads? I plan on doing a cam sometime in the spring (was going to this fall, but my unexpected trans rebuild is taking the funds right now) and a pair of fresh heads would be awesome since that would be perfect timing.
I'm thinking a good ol' porting would help out a bit (correct me if I'm wrong).
I'd also be putting beefier valve springs in. So in other words if I could get these heads at a fair price now, having all winter to work on them would be awesome.

BTW, what years of Series 1 3800'* are these from? I'd need 93-95 heads.

Thanks in advance,
Martin

I'm stepping 2nd in line for those heads depending upon price and shipping costs. PM me if my turn comes up. Might need some research help from some other members to ensure they will work on a 93 application.
