Wheel spin sensor cut out switch
Decided to install a wheel spin sensor cut out. But noticed a problem. Let em go threw the mod and make sure I did it right. It seems straight forward enough. The problem will show up near the end.
Started by jacking up the car and removing the wheel.
Located the WSS
Found the other end in the engine compartment.
Then I removed the wire so it was easy to work on.
Cut the wire and soldered in what I need to reach my switch.
Then ran the wires and hooked it up.
All worked well, the WSS shut off with the switch. However, I found you can't use the LED in the switch. With only half a volt there'* not enough to turn on the LED and run the WSS, so it was cutting out on it'* own. disconnect the ground on the switch and it works fine.
Now for the problem. Ignore the long center mark, it'* a old one. The tire on the right has the switched WSS, and it spun no problem. But the wheel on the left looks like it was still in traction control. Now I'm not sure if I remembered to turn off traction control before I flipped the switch.
I'll try again today but if only one tire spins again I'm going to try something different. I'll take 2 relays and power them closed and each one will go to a WSS. I flip the switch and the relays open. Unless there'* a easier way. Thoughts?

Turn the switch so the right WSS is disconnected and try spinning the tires (which is what you already did and observed spinning on right only).
Turn the switch so the right WSS is disconnected, disconnect the connector from the left WSS and try spinning the tires (you should get spinning on both sides).
Turn the switch so the right WSS is connected, disconnect the connector from the left WSS and try spinnng the tires (you should get spinning on the left side only).
Our common knowledge tells us if one WSS is disconnected, traction control is disabled. Your three trials will test that theory, and tell you if you have to install a switch to the left WSS as well.

I've got the relays wired up and ready to go. I just happed to have 2 spares that were exactly what I needed. Guess I'll do a write up once I get this all figured out. I'm kind of liking the relay idea as well because then I can use the lighted switch again. It'* not as easy and cheap as I had hoped it would be. But I don't want to do a write up that has the potential of damaging the diff. Spinning 1 tire is bad.

just watch out when you use the lighted switch to energize the relays, well the problem is when you take away power there is a magnetic pulse that knocked out the LED on a switch I had one time, it was a weird one time thing for me

OK, I took the advice or 2K and I disconnected the drivers side WSS leaving the switch on for the passenger side WSS. This time both tires spun no problem, a bit of smoke and then they started to grab as I got off of it.
Now I'm not sure if the two sensors are handled differently. But I think I may just need to switch the wires I have the switch on. That makes everything much easier.
My driveway is starting to look like a landing strip. These tires are worn out so I may have to do a few more tests.
