Default Will a stage 2 intercooler kit fit on my 2000 ssei?

My next step for improving performance is a intercooler or a cam. I have read many post on clubgp about intercoolers and they seem to deliver a better bang for the buck then a cam. I would like to do a cam or an intercooler sometime this summer. I need to know if a stage 2 intercooler will fit on my 2000 ssei, if not I'll probably go with a xp or sx1 cam. Thanks!

You're not ready for an intercooler yet. Get a cam instead.

why not the intercooler? What cam would be good for my set up and keep it reliable?

You'll gain more from a cam than an intercooler, and it'* cheaper.

Your in line for a cam and an inter cooler will fit no problem.
IC will take modded fuel rails, special heat exchanger (gp wont fit) and some tricky plumbing.
The cam is pretty straight forward and would have the same gains.

I would get the 1X go back back to your stock rockers and get new hyd. lifters.
Then sell the 1.9'* and start saving for a IC

I'm with these guys on the cam giving better bang for the buck, but an intercooler will also give you a hell of a boost.

Just as a comparo, there'* a PAU out there who had a short-stack IC, a 2.5" downpipe on stock manifolds, a 3.3"MPS, and an open cone intake, and he ran a 13.8.

By contrast, I have SLP headers/highflow(3"DP), 1.9 roller rockers, INTENSE PCM, mildly ported Gen3, and a high-stall converter, and I ran a 14.3.

He'* much less heavily modded than I am, but the SSIC got him down a half second below my times...

My recommendation though? For the money you'd spend on a full size IC, you could get the cam, and a GenV.

The S1x and XP cams are good for street cars. The XP cam is a little more aggressive and makes more hp than the S1x at the higher revs (5-10hp tops), but the power starts coming on later because of the more aggressive profile. I run the S1x and while the car does pull pretty hard from 3k rpm, the sweet spot for the cam seems to be 4500-6300rpm. The XP should have a similar power band, just shifted a couple hundred rpm higher. With either cam you can run a 3.2(maybe 3.0) pulley during the summer on pump gas.

Installing a cam is a piece of cake if you're somewhat mechanically inclined. The biggest pita is that you either have to pull the engine, or drop the passenger side of the subframe to slide the cam in and out. There are some cam install write ups floating around out there, but since it'* your first time I'd suggest finding someone with some experience to help you out.
