'96 ville Suspension Upgrade
My '96 with 180,000 MI is in need of new struts, it handles like a dog with bad hips! 
My question, I want a cost-effective performane strut upgrade (i.e. <500 set). What do you guys use?? Does anybody have the electronic suspension option?? Does it work? Would it be worth it to install those O.E. types of struts???
If not what aftermarket types would really firm up the suspension??
What about polyurethane sway bar bushings? Vendors? Part#'*?
I know there are some great handling big cars out there, it'* just hard finding the parts to do it!

This is funny....just approved your post on BI and replied to it....hang on, I'll cut and paste here:
Your struts are probably due for a change. But that'* not the only
thing I'd do. The Electronic suspension would be a nightmare. You
need to add the compressor, all the valves, struts, wiring, switches,
and ELC module. The sway bars on the SE are smaller than those on
the SSEi. I'd go to the junkyard and get some bigger ones. That
will make a HUGE difference in performance if you drive like I do!
There are a few people who have done this, and you're probably only
talking $50. Strut replacements will be spendy.

There are a few options
First off I have a store that sells struts but they are expensive for your budget and there are other options you might want to try first.
Personally I don’t like Electronic Struts and yes I could provide them but it’* not really a good option in my opinion.
If you don’t plan to lower your vehicle you can get ssei coils and swap them in instead of the se coils/springs. Yes the anti sway bars are a quick fix as well. Careful with the antiswaybars they can get you in a real mess if not set up properly. If you don’t want to go koni aftermarket struts then the next best thing is a KYB wet strut (like the ones you have). They also come adjustable. Go to the universal bin for bushings and you will find a bunch that fit. I know in Bonneville Club forum if you type in search you will find a line on bushing part #'* under antiswaybars / bushings. Something like that. If you have any more questions feel free to drop me an E-mail. I am always glad to help whether you are interested in purchasing product or not.
One last note: You will find the Bonneville has a smaller number of people interested in performance options so we have a smaller market; thus the performance solutions are often a custom or a more expensive solution. If you are a do it yourself kind of person I can help you get your hands on solutions that are a bit cheaper but more labor intensive.
