Nice work, curiuos to hear how it was built.
Someone asked which type of intake makes more power, the answer is whatever one can pull in as close to ambiant air as possible. A FWI makes this much easier in acheving by taking the filter out of the engine bay. A good CAI box should be insulated enough to also keep the temps down, if they both had the same size filters and pipes and intake temps, they'd be equal. But I bet you could argue that a straight shot CAI would be best then like 2000silverbullets, cause no restriction due to bends at all and is bringing in ambiant air.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I fabricated this out of a Dynomax 3" mendral bend, I measured the angles and lengths and cut, then rewelded together. I used a #0930 K&N. I measured a max of 138 GM/Sec with the new induction, 129 GM/Sec with the stock airbox. The stock airbox was datalogged on a cooler day for the record. Outside temp today was 90deg, lowest temp reading was 92deg with an average cruise temp of 94deg. I will get some mileage numbers as soon as I go through a tank.

I did use a rubberized coating, it gave it the textured look, but I'm sure there is better out there. 5deg above ambient is a good showing to me so I will prob just stick with it.

Man you should make like 10 of those things and sell em for 100 a pop...good way to make a quick buck... I am so sure there are people out there that would pay it.
