Default My Custom CAI

Just finished fabbing up my CAI. I hope to see a mileage gain, but some more performance is also welcome. I relocated my CC and stuck the filter in that hole to pull in cool outside air. I will get some airflow gains and temp drops vs the stock airbox in a few days.

Still needs another coat of paint. :)

Shows where the CC was moved to, just needed to extend the fuel tank line.

Looks more like FWI (Fender well intake) than a CAI.

Kinda looks like a first in the pre-Y2k Bonneville crowd (to my knowledge).

Looks great and with a slightly larger filter it should get alot of cold air.
Where did you get the tubing for it? I bet alot of B-ville owners would love to get their hands on a setup like that.

Well done.

What do you think provides for more power..... a CAI or a fender intake?

the FWI has more bends, making it harder to pull in air. You would be surprised how much a 90* bend takes out of your airflow. I would say CAI for NA cars and FWI for SC. That is a sweet setup, custom bent pipes it looks like? If you could mass produce em I bet you could make a little money. THere is currently no FWI setup for our cars, so congrats you are the first.
