Well, I had my Magnaflow installed today. I had it put on in pace of the stock muffler and had tips put on (muffler and tips can be seen on page 2 of my link below). I haven't taken pics of it yet on the car as I didn't get home until after dark making good pics out of the question. Will try to get some pics tomorrow so keep watching my cardomain pages.
I guess I will say that I am not overly happy with the setup. It feels like I have lost 10-25 lb ft of torque at the low end (where I was hoping to gain). Not near as much tire smoking torque, and the seat of the pants power feel is very much gone, although not totally. I can still roach the tires from a dead stop, but no longer can do it at over 20 mph like it did before with ease.
I don't know what I'll do. Either put the original muffler back on and use one tip or use the twin outlet muffler off the 1993 SSE parts car and retain the twin tips, but one thing I know is it really feels like over kill. I just hope it doesn't hurt my gas mileage as I can't afford to lose that too as the tranny shifts into Drive from OD after driving out of town for 5-10 miles causing a major loss of mpg when cruising at 70-80 mph.
Maybe with a 2.5 muffler and a little more back pressure than this Magnaflow Wide Open model I might be a lot happier. Anyone want to trade a 2.5 Dynamax, Borla (yeah -I'm dreaming), or Flowmaster (or whatever you have) for this one? I would suggest this be used for a supercharged application only. It isn't overly loud either -my brother didn't notice it when he was parked beside me in his SSE with his windows open and I had the engine revving at 2500 rpm. Cabin noise is a little louder, but wouldn't annoy even the pickiest passenger.

Forgot to say for those not knowing, this Magnaflow Wide Open edition muffler has a single 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets. It is the Camaro type which is very compatible in our H-bodies. And when Magnaflow called it the Wide Open edition they meant it. You can see through it with no obstructions -literally.

Now I've got the pre-installation jitters.

Part of what I based my decision on was the customer testimonials on the MagnaFlow site:

http://www.magnaflow.com/06vehicles/...*/domestic.htm

A little past halfway down, there'* a 1992 Bonneville SSE owner who states his extreme pleasure with the product.
I was hoping for that, too!

Most of the people claim more power, better throttle response, etc.
Might the 3" version be part of the reason for the low-end power loss?

Here'* another link to check out, particularly the Camaro/Z-28 owner comments:

http://www.carreview.com/Mufflers/Dy...5_2872crx.aspx

Most of these guys claim power and mileage increases.
That'd be good.
