Default Broke in the '03 at the track today...

With 3700 miles on the odometer and 5 days of ownership under the belt I took my Bonnie to Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Michigan today to get some stock baselines.

Here'* my best:

R/T ... .892
60' ... 2.294
330' ... 6.418
1/8 ... 9.814
MPH ... 73.02
1000' ... 12.714
1/4 ... 15.126
MPH ... 94.75

For bone stock, I'm very happy with the results. The track wouldn't hook today and I'm sure I could have hit 14.90'* or better with a 2.0 60', but I'll sure take a 15.1. My 60'* were all 2.3 - 2.4'*. I found out that I can lauch a whole lot better with the traction control on, I ran a 15.6 with a 2.5 60' the one time I turned the TCS off. I also ran a bunch of 15.2'*, 15.3'* and 15.4'*, as the M90 heated up it got a little slower as usual. I might take it to the track one more time stock, or I may begin the modding process, I haven't decided that yet.

What a great car...and I thought it was a real slug when I first drove it.

Very impressive for the first run at the track with the Bonneville. Good luck with the mods.

Doesn't the new Bonneville look so much nicer the that molested Grand Prix, no offense if you know the guy Will, but your car is so much nicer, please don't do that to your Bonne...maybe some tints and mechanical mods. Your car is WAY to nice

LOL..its true, its taken me a while to get used to the new model of Bonnes, but now that I see them more often..I'm starting to like them.

It looks sharp in white, but that GP is a little to wanna-be badass, the lowered kit and the gold stock wire rims are not the best match..but thats just me

Great job!

I have always wondered what my 2K2 would do stock, but never got an official time. Now that you have it benchmarked, you can truly see what each mod does performance-wise.

Excellent run for stock.
Beats all the magazine tests I've read for stock SSEi'*. 15.7 @ 90 mph
I never raced mine at a track when it was stock.
Good luck with modding it up. It'* very simple to shave a second off your times.

Thanks for the compliments everybody!

I've got a pretty extensive mod list, although it won't all get done this year. Tint is probably one of those things that'* gonna have to wait. I gotta feed this horsepower addiction first. I used to own two GTP'* so I'm real familar with what makes them go, but what I really love is how barely anybody mods these cars. On Saturday, among a crowd of 50+ GTP'* and Regal GS'* and various other L67 powered cars, I was the only Bonnie there. The only bad thing was I got killed by every car there, some of those GTP'* and GS'* were in the 12'* and almost everybody else was in the 13'*. What are you gonna do though, that'* the price you pay for coming to the track stock. I guarantee you that I will notch some victories over some of these cars in the next few months.

I'm as shocked as anybody that this thing runs low 15'* stock, especially since they're supposed to run high 15'*. I'm not gonna complain though, it looks like I've just got a factory freak on my hands. 2003 seems to be a good model year for L67'*. I know of a few '03 GTP'* that are way faster than they should be, one of them had 200 FWHP on the dyno. I think I'll dyno mine stock too just to see if I have some extra HP that shouldn't be there.
