Now dont get me wrong I love the bonneville spoiler- it fits the car- but something a little higher more sporty would be cool. and also, a manual transmission would fit the way I drive it better than the auto even in perform shift. anybody agree?

A manual trans option for the SSEi only would be nice...however most full sized flagship cars will stick with the automatic.

The new GXP V8 with manual would be devastating, kill stories galore...LOL As for the spolier, I'm not a huge fan of them, I prefer the low key horizontal effect that the stock spoiler give the 92-99 Bonnes, but to each his own...just don't go to crazy with the wings...

I think a manual would be sick.. it'll definietly bring more HP to the ground.. however to make GM do it for a full size family car like Bonneville wouldn't happen. Not enough money there to warrent it. Although if someone does make an aftermarket one.. that would be sweet.

Conversions are possible. I was looking into this quite recently. It would be quite a bit of work and in the $2k-$3k range if you're a good welder/fabricator to start with. I may eventually do this when the time comes to kiss my stock tranny goodbye.

A manual would definetly be nice, but like Drifter said there probably isn't the market for it. But a sequential gearbox would be killer.

I can do a manual trans as we speak but you need to modify a few openings. The transaxle already exists and it can take about 450hp with a few mods. To go bigger hp you will have to go import porcha to be specific.

I also offered the paddle option about a year ago on the yahoo club and it is already available. The cost is high and still fairly custom though

Won't the manual trannies from the early 1990'* 3.1 turbo and the 3.4 bolt up to the Series 1 3800'*? I thought I had heard this. I have located about a dozen of these trannies so far and can get a couple for as cheap as $200 with right around 100k on them. I would do it, but that would require a cutch pedal setup, the shifter stup, computer reprogramming, among many other things. Would be fun to have in the end, but then it'* like why try to supercharge a NA when you can sell the NA and buy a factory supercharged car for less than the cost of sc'ing the na. So I figured if I wanted a manual 3800 I'd just as well go get the Series II 3800/5-spd Firebird, and another benefit there would be less hp lost between the flywheel and the ground since rwd loses less power than fwd'* (something like 5-6.5% rwd hp loss compared to 11-13% hp loss in fwd car'*).

RWD is very different than FWD. RWD stick is easy and you can pick many different options. For real hp a 4l80-e with a manual shift option is what we offer for the serious HP enthusiast.
