What is the difference everyone feels from standard rotors/brake pads to slotted rotors and ceramic pads. I don't know if what I"m experiencing is normal or not.. It seems like hard brakign is better than with original rotors/pads, but initial brake feel just SUCKS! My brakes feel like my car has a bad master cylinder. This feeling only started right after I changed teh rotors/pads. The brakes just feel extremely weak, and there is a ton of pedal travel before the brakes start to stop the car. I don't know if my organic pads I had on there before (raybestos) had better initial brake bite compared to ceramics, or if there is something wrong with my car. I have no idea what is wrong with it so that my brakes SUCK now! They feel so weak that you think you're not giogn to stop. The calipers are working fine, the car isn't pulling to either side when braking so I don't know what'* wrong.. any ideas at all?
I'm really bummed that I spent so much money on my brakes and they were A LOT better before I changed the rotors and brake pads.

ok I get confused on this a lot, but the ceramic pads suck, either that or they are the ones whick kick ***.. What I do know though, is the raybestos pads are some good stuff right there.. basically if every week you have to spend 15 minutes scrubbing each wheel on your car, then your pads are the good stuff.

What I had heard about slotted rotors and ceramic pads, are the pads work better as the brakes get hotter. I would have used just the slotted rotors and stuck with a good quality metallic brake pads.

heh. Funny you should mention that.. the organic Raybestos pads I had on there before wold have both front wheels coated in black in only 2 or so days. that'* why I switched, I got tired of cleaning my wheels twice a week. I guess atleast they're not black at all after 2 days of the new ceramic pads. Maybe my next set of pads will be Raybestos again instead of Satisfied PRO. One thing I love about the ceramics though is that they're QUIET. Before my brakes always squealed.

I'm running the first set of RSM'* for the H bodies. I love the decreased dust, and better braking.

The slots allow water to shed for better wet braking, they also allow the pads to outgas rather than trapping a cushion between the pad and rotor. As they get hot, they bite harder.

HOWEVER, I've successfully warped my RSM'* twice now. I'm looking for an alternative. RSM'* are great for mild-lightly hot street driving, but can't hold up to my style. (Keep in mind I had instructions to TRY to destroy them).

Raybestos Ceramics are the best pads. At least in my experience. I'll keep them when I switch rotors. Don't run them on stock rotors, though.

why shouldn't you run them on stock rotors?

Ceramic pads will prematurely warp 87-99 H body stock rotors.

ok, so ceramic pads are the ones that are hard, and create very little brake dust right? or are they the ones that are awesome pads that have tons of brake dust? I am so confused on the brakes subject, except the fact mine suck.

Very hard, very little LIGHT colored brake dust. Usually not visible even after a month.

BRUTAL on stock rotors.

Will, do you have any ideas on why my brakes are so horrible now? I'm out of ideas completely. The brakes have been bled. After driving my car for a while then switching back to the 00 SSEi those brakes have great initial bite and they're totally shot too. I know this can't be the way they're supposed to feel. Wish some members were closer that could see what was wrong with it/drive it. Ah well I guess.
