Thats the spot, two bolts.
No, it shouldnt be on there so tight you can't loosen them. Keep working at it, they should come off sooner or later.

Yes it'* just those 2 bolts......And if it'* never been pulled off before.....You're gonna have to fight them a lil bit....I think factory thread locks them or something. Try using a flat blade screw driver and tapping the sides of the bolt heads with a hammer....Sometimes that'll loosen them up.

Finally done

I lost about a pint of blood trying to get those damn bolts on but I did it.

I put in a new gasket, O-ring and while I was at it I changed the hoses and coolant

So what am I looking for?

When I use to drive I was barely under the 200 degree mark

I should be noticably under it now right?

Where do you live? Temps? Style of driving?

Stop and go its gonna get kinda hot, but cruising should be well under 200.

If you get a PCM to turn on the fans at 180 with the addition of drilling 2 holes in the T-stat, you will never see 200 again.

It will be cooler, the only thing that will get it close to 100* is stop and go driving now. Congrats. If I saw this thread earlier I would have helped you out a little.
