Default What'* it take to get these cars to trap 100mph in the 1/4

I have an '02 SSEi, and I really dont plan on making it a hardcore drag car since it is my daily driver, but I'd like to have it make enough power to be able to trap 100mph in the 1/4. Would the stage 2 kit from Intense be enough to get me there? More importantly, I really dont want to lose any fuel economy or drivability, so heads and cam are out of the question. Can it be acheived with simple bolt-ons? Would headers need to be added into the equation? I have no clue what these cars are even supposed to run the 1/4 in, in stock form. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Joe.

you will need a PCM, 3.4 pulley, 1.9 rockers, ORpushrods, and LS6 springs to get in to the 100 trap.

mods actually make the car breathe better and sometimes increase the gas milage and economy...Just look at Rogue'* car....its a 00 and is a 12 SEC daily driver and got really good gasmilage untill he put in the 3.69 gears....

I would add headers or ported mani'* to that list to get to 100. Also your going to have traction issues so a set of slicks maybe needed.

Stock you are about 15.2 @ 92 mph
3.4 pulley + FWI = 14.9@94
high flow cat=14.6@96
rocker + PCM and headers or PEM= 13.8-13.9@ 100mph

Follow the example of PDad and my mods and you will be there.
Traction will be key.

Intake, DHP, XP Cam, TOG'*. 100mph traps you have easily. Throw an SS I/C on there as well and see traps closer to the 105mph range, or any full size IC to see some really nice impressive traps.

Without changing the cam, I'd say do everything I initially listed except run 1.9 rockers instead of the XP cam, and an SS I/C. Then you should be comfortably over the 100mph trap you're looking for. You would actually be close without the IC, or without the headers.

Also, most of the cams available for these cars will not hurt their reliability or streetability at all really. Keeping the stock cam for streetability reasons doesn't really make any sense, but for the power levels you're looking for its not necessary to change it, and I personally wouldn't.

Cartuning Turbo Kit

115 Mph traps with better than stock highway mileage.

Cheers,

Cheers,
It also costs $4k+ and you'll need supporting mods such as a $2k+ tranny to go along with it. I also don't know about the 115mph traps with an SSEi, but it might be the case, never seen one on a Bonnie. (I don't think there are any)

Those turbo kits are nuts. If I had the time and money. Well, I do have the money but saving it for a house. I would order one right now. I've seen vids of NA Regals and GPs going from 16 sec cars to 12 sec cars with just that and a tranny. GTP'* are even more nuts. 115mph traps, oh yea easily.
