Aside from replacing that intake with something better. I would say ported exhaust manifolds (or headers) and ported lower intake manifold.

First off, Welcome to BonnevilleClub. If you are looking for mods, the people here talk from experience and won't steer you in the wrong direction
Yeah, X2 on replacing the Weapon R intake with something better. If anything, it probably kills some power off, and just sounds cooler then the stock intake. I would replace it with a fender well intake from Intense Racing. here is the link.....http://www.intense-racing.com/
also, check out the Links and Techinfo pages at the top of every page. They have a ton of excelent information for mods and just general upkeep.
Lastly, We are a bunch of pic hungry people around here so, take some pics and post them up

Have you noticed the filter on the 'weapon' never changes with the engines on their site have half the displacement as yours? And that'* a ridiculous price, too. :(
That filter is TINY. I can't vouch for the flow characteristics of it, but our experience is it'* for show, and there'* alot of marketing hype. The REAL problems that jump right out is that it'* far too short for your application, which pulls hotter air (actually hurting you, as opposed to pulling from right behind the headlight where it'* cooler, or better yet being shielded), and the short intake doesn't give the air enough time to become laminar, which increases velocity and allows your MAF sensor to get an accurate reading.
You will be better off gutting your stock airbox and using a K&N or Amsoil drop-in replacement filter.
Sure wish you'd found us before you bought it. Is it too late to return it?

ya i had got it a few weeks ago, bcuz of the fact that i couldnt find any K&N filters that didnt require modifications to put into my car so i figured it would be easier to just buy something that fit right in, i was nervous to purchase it as it was a off brand intake so i researched it and saw that on many product reviews people were quite happy with it also with mine it came with the ram air hose so i have that running from the stock fender intake hole in the fender to the front grill so hopefully that helps some cold air get to the filter, also as some of u said i will probly make my self a heat shield, so far i havent noticed any phenominal increase, but i can feel the extra power in higher rpms. maybe i can post a video of it or something thanks so far for all of your guys' suggestions they are much appreciated

I don't think you fully understood our suggestion. Get rid of it. There are too many things wrong with it.
My suggestion is to try to return it if you can, and if you can't, try listing it on eBay. You can build a better intake for half that cost and have better performance.
The reviews you read are from import-tuners that think looks are speed and power.

Welcome to the club , I am with the other those intake are not very good I had one on my miata, I was less the impressed with it. I hope you like it here. You look in people signatures most have a. Drilled 180 thermostat that helps the air bleed of in the cooling system, help the flow that is a cheap and easy to do mod.
You have a high flow cat, great mod, that is a more costly mod but people here do it and it works. The tech inof is a great online book to have and it is the bible here, if you follow me, and we do love pics. Again welcome/ Keep the peace
