Engine Swap?
I did a search in the forum and didn't really come up with anything interesting besides swapping from an n/a motor to a supercharged one. Has anyone on here swapped to a completely different engine? Just something all around bigger? What engines could fit in a bonneville? More specifically a 1996 bonneville se?

There was an article posted on here about an LT1 swapped into a 92-95 SSE/SSEi. It also involved a lot of underbody work (and a lot of money) since it was RWD. It was not a member here though.

no, that was a bonneville'* unibody assembled to a B body frame already made for the LT1. unless thats what you meant.
In FACT, here that website is NOW!

can't be much of anything cooler than that. Could use a modded LS1 tho. now THATS a car.

i'm not too sure why you'd want to, except to be different. the 3800 is a great starting point for any performance build. but if you really want to do something bigger and different you could swap to a caddy 4.9 v-8 (not recomended, it'* a great motor but it'* not better than the 3800)the northstar feasible swap.

using parts from this kit you could drop a small block chevy transversly and retain FWD. expensive, but ultimatly cool.

check out some of the engine swaps these guys have done. many of the swaps they've done can easily be done in a bonnie without too many major tweaks to their layouts.
whatever you choose, make sure to take lots of pictures... and definatly bring your wallet.

I dont know man. I think that a rear wheel drive V8 Bonneville is as cool as you could get. Now if you get a real poncho engine under that hood. WOW!

There'* a guy on one of the fiero forums who'* put an LS1 in a GP using the stock tranny. I'd imagine it'd be pretty similar to do that to a bonne. It'd be a little more moddable than the Caddy V-8 too.
