Default B&M Trickshift

anyone run this stuff in their tranny? and do i run the regular trickshift or the synthetic trickshift? any input would be great

don't use it. it will burn up your trans. causes the bands to slip longer to make it feel like a firmer shift, but all it does is eat up your trans faster.

I've used B&M before, only thing I trust from them now is there temp gauges, but even those are **** too. Never touch B & M.

I've heard B&M is just Ford trans fluid wihch is thicker thus causing a little more line pressure and crisping up your shifts. Personally I wouldn't use it in my trans but its yoru call.

they may use a thicker base .. but they also use line pressure and anti foaming agents

and if the bands slip longer HOW can it be a firmer quicker shift????

by design adding line pressure would cause the bands to slip less and shift firmer... if your trans wasn't in great condition to begin with it could eat up your trans

I'm not saying adding a fluid like this can't harm your trans overtime ... but did you also know your trans condition before hand?... keep up with the cooling the trans needed for the extra effort inside it?

seriously if your trans was already slipping alot and you added trick shift or any additive to your normal ATF as a bandaid it would probably just agrivate the condition and make it fail sooner.

Just do your car the biggest favor you can......DON'T USE B & M. I lost a 2k tranny in my truck from their stuff....Now I built a 4k HD tranny.....Unless you're lookin for an excuse to get a new tranny....Don't touch the stuff.....I can't stress this enough.

B&M Trick shift is not a new product. Used to run it in my 67 GTO Turbo 400 back in the '70s. I can't say it was a great product, I don't remember it doing that much performance wise... was a cool green color. It didn't do any harm, that trans is still being run in the same car today. I don't think I'd use it again, just didn't see any performance increase and it cost to much.
