The GXP may be a V8, but it'* still FWD. To go LS2, and make it RWD, you'd have alot more work on your hands. Body/Frame mods galore.

GM built an LS1 V8 AWD Grand Prix some time ago (2 years back?) and it smoked the drivetrain pretty quick.

your best bet would be to research if the 5.3 in the grand prix GXP is similar at all to the LS2... im guessing its not, but if it is, you would have a good start there with atleast some transmission and PCM ideas

trust me i wish making it rwd was a possability. i am debating getting a chrysler 300 but i love my bonn so much i just wish gm would follow the leader and switch back to rwd like dodge. you mention the grand prix but is the bonn gxp a v8 i thought it was. most gm v8 have the same bolt pat for drive line.

Pontiac will have more RWD in the near future.

That may be true, but the GXP is a Northstar V*, that means 4T80 transmission, special bellhousing to account for the starter placed under the intake manifold, among other things. The GP is a 5.3 DOD engine witha 4T65E beefed up transmission (i believe).

While GM will have some RWD soon enough..

Why go backward in technology? Seems silly.

If you want a swap, just do a L67 swap. They can be made to be way faster than the FWD LS2.

Like he said... Doing a LS2 swap is quite possible and really it would be easy if you know what you are doing. It has been done on many W-Body'* - By GM and others. The only problem with doing an LS2 is what you are going to have to pay for the engine itself. You will have $6K into just an engine unless you have some kind of hookup. Then you look at after market parts and it gets really expensive. I'd just stick with a 3800 Series II and throw a intercooled turbo kit on it. Just with that you are already at 400+ FWHP - much more then a LS2.

LS2 < Turbo'd 3800
