Default Exhaust/Muffler opinions

2 3/4 pipe before 2 1/4 after i think . Dual exhaust but not true dual. Wanted to know what would be the best sounding. Right now cherry bomb muffler ( not glass pack) but want it louder. BTW gm sierra 02 v8 6.0.
Lmk what you all think!
Considers flow master super 44 or 10 for muffler

cherry bomb is the loudest muffler you can get. the restriction in sound is mostly from the cat. if you live in a state that allows it, you may consider just running a strait pipe. the stock cats take alot of the noise out of it. its more costly but if you want louder than that you would have to go to a dual aftermarket cat setup and possibly tune to get rid of codes

Are you considering exhaust tips as well? This will help some.

Have you upgraded to headers yet? Gotta let the girl breathe before she can sing.

you cant flow much through the stock cat, not much need for headers and things until you change that. the tail pipes that look like megaphones are loud

I think cherry bombs might be the loudest, but flow masters could smooth out the tone and sound better.

Based on your profile, a 3" exhaust pipe would be excessive and not have enough back pressure.. in other words, you'd perform worse than before. Go to this link and read #12 if nothing else. The folks at Flowmaster know their shiz.... FAQ

thats a debate for another day, but regardless you are talking a few hp diff between stock and anything else, and on a almost 350hp truck you are not going to feel any difference between stock and a 3in or 8in for that matter
