Default They FINALLY arrived......

My new injectors (they were on backorder) were delivered by FIE today at work. Swapped 'em in as soon as I got home:

The PCM went into stupid mode right away (I didn't back off the fuel pressure first), but settled in after a few attempts at a WAY rich idle. You wouldn't have wanted to see sparks near the tailpipes.

Backed the fuel pressure down a bit and went out for a drive. It'* going to take some time to settle in, and I may have to tweak the pressure a bit more. Wideband O2 is averaging 14.5 right now (just a tad rich) at idle, but it'* fluctuating. I'll give it time to settle in for a couple days, then back the pressure down 1 psi at a time each day until it settles in.

One WCBF problem solved.............now if I could just find a good replacement motor. :?

I think I need to find a place to store my flowmatched OEM 29lb injectors now. Where could I POSSIBLY store them......

My dad would definitely be interested in them for his 94.

Have you checked www.car-part.com for a motor near you yet?

They'll probably be on the SLEeper within 24 hours. Might be about the same time I get the custom plates for the car too.

Yes, I've been using all resources for motors here, including car-part.com.

The problem are my high standards on low mileage or certified high compression. Not to mention the limited production of the motors, and the sparse population in the NW.

Don't know about cold starts until it gets cold tomorrow morning.

FP is down to 46psi right now, and will probably go lower. (Key on, ignition off prime only)

Awesome to see that someone finally got some Accel injectors. I think I asked about those back when I first signed up, but nobody used them. I wanted to get a set of stock poundage ones cause it is cheaper than sending mine in or buying the ones from the parts store. Let me know your opinion on them Will.

Not sure these are the same Series as OEM replacements. And they may not be that cost-effective when you factor in how cheap they are at a wrecker, and the smoking deal you'll get out of the wrecker cores at FIE for a flowmatched set.

In this case, I needed an oddball injector, and didn't have much choice but to go new. If I push the Zilla farther than I have, I'll take the next logical step up to 36lb OEM injectors, and pass these over to the SLE.

Hard starting this morning. A little harder than before, but I know why. Wideband showed me running a little on the lean side this morning. Fuel pressure settled in around 42-44 PSI.

I had air in my fuel rail from the injector swap when I adjusted the FP last night. I selected these injectors to flow correctly for me at 3.5bar in case my AFPR ever failed, I could fall back on the S2 OEM FPR. I need to bump the pressure back up to ~50psi to prevent lean starts and the lean running I have now (not horribly lean, but slightly).

Keep in mind the OEM 3bar regulator would be HORRIBLY lean right now. I've had my AFPR almost maxed out (close to 4bar......58 psi) for some time now. I was able to back it down some after I de-tuned and pulleyed up from the piston popping fun.

This engine really demands alot of air (and fuel) with the ported heads and rockers. I'll jack the pressure up a bit before lunch and see how she does.
