Header clatter
Anyone else get this? When you go in reverse and hit the gas moderately you can hear the rear headers hit the .... sway bar?.... exhaust shield?...
I'm not sure where its hitting, but I've talked to other GTP owners and they get the same noise/vibration in reverse with TOG'* or SLP'*.

If you check for clearance when you install it you should have no problems. When my dad got his headers on his GTP, they would hit on the swaybar (because he has an aftermarket sway bar that is a LOT thicker than the stock one) causing false KR and a banging noise, so we flipped the sway bar over and also bent the tranny tube a little and it doesn't hit on anything anymore. If you think they are hitting the sway bar...flip it over...the problem will be solved if that is in fact whats happening.

This may have nothing to do with headers. You may want to check the rest of your exhaust system for lose or damaged components and mounting points. Have you checked your CAT?

Actually he makes a very good point.
That was one of the reasons I fabbed up my own Solid front engine mount.
Not only does it keep my intake cold air box intake and get the power to the wheels immediately without any engine movement, but the exhaust flex connection does not get flexed from engine movement.
That could be a very good reason why his headers/exhaust pipe hits something.
I would highly recommend to anyone to fab themselves up a solid mount.
The only downside is a very slightly noticeable engine vibration at low rpm.

Definately a good thing to do. If my mom didn't want her car to drive like stock, I would've done it already.
