I understand what you are saying Ben. I am was totally 100% sure it was the stock chip. So i emailed Ryan at gmtuners and told him i wanted a list of thigns he needed for a scan to get atleast a baseline chip and that way we could get started at tuning. And he told me, he was sure a chip wasnt going to cure my problem (atleast that is what he said he believed) and it was soemthing else. Because of the free reving causing knock. So i sent out 2 emails to 2 different companies. Giving a breif overview of what is going on and a link to my performance thread. Both companies said it wasnt anything to do with the pcm and it must be false knock. I mean at this point i am puzzled, i felt the same way you did. Tonight i am getting the pcm out of my black car and i am going to try that, it cant hurt.

As far as things i have tried

checked Fuel pressure
cleaned all sensors (and tried the ones from the other motor also)
changed the cat
Did new plugs and wires
and a few other things, but i lost my train of thought.

It isnt like i am not trying other things, but everytime i think i have the problem pinpointed i am thrown another way.

PS- i am working at a decent job again, so money isnt really a factor, atleast not right now.

I'm still maintaining that it'* a tuning issue with your PCM. Since when has any stock 3800 PCM ever been able to adjust enough for a huge change like a cam? As far as I can remember, it hasn't happened.

I agree with Big_news. It doesn’t matter if you are in 2nd gear or revving in neutral your motor is still moving much more air at a given MAF reading. Do yourself a favor and talk to someone at Gmtuners again.

Well that is what i was thinking about the tuning. Because on open loop when i dont have any KR my O2'* are in the very high 800'* to low 900'* (like 870-910) and no KR. Then closed loop, O2'* go down into the high 700'* low 800'* and i have the 15 degrees of KR. I get paid on friday and i am going to order a chip. It cannot hurt.

I took some scans for ryan at gmtuners. In open and closed loop. He is going to look them over and get back to me tonight. Shawn (dbtk2) through this idea at me "you need some work to your AE tables because maybe it isn't giving you enough fuel right away when you hammer on it". Anyone have any imput on this?

Either way i am going to start tuning. I told ryan i would get him the scan data and i wanted to start tuning. I dont care if it fixes the problem, at minumium it has to help it some.

Here is some scans from today
