TJ... please explain to me why free revving has ANY bearing on why your KR can't be a tuning issue. Whether there is load on the engine or not, you're still pulling in WAY more air at any given MAF frequency than your tuning tables are calibrated for. I'm still maintaining that it'* a tuning issue with your PCM. Since when has any stock 3800 PCM ever been able to adjust enough for a huge change like a cam? As far as I can remember, it hasn't happened.
Buddy, I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but it'* time you started changing some parts and experimenting a little. This has to be the third different thread where your KR has been discussed, and all we do is theorize about what the problem might
be. Unfortunately we are not able to pinpoint the exact cause of the KR, or even if it is real or false. You need to start testing parts, swapping sensors, changing PCM chips.... whatever it takes.
My guess is still the chip. I might be wrong, but you gotta start somewhere. I know your money situation isn't fantastic, but if you want to get to the root of this problem it seems you'll have to spend a little dough.
