Since you will have them off, it'* a good time to do the rockers & springs.
Heh, good idea. I'm sure my dad would be happy when I gave him more stuff to help me with.

The only weakness i've noticed on Ser 2 L67s is oil burning. Mine does and i've seen quite a few others too. It doesn't seem to have any adverse affects on the performance or smoothness of the engine. Don't L67s run a little rich out of the factory?

I doubt the engine is weak at all.. my car went swimming while back.. ingested bunch of water.. sat there for a few months in that condition * not started * went thru a coke cycle.. and starts up fine.. everyone even the mechanics were surprised that she started and still running. They said most engine would've croaked as soon as it ingested water. Lets see some of the Honda'* and wat not try that. That proves to me that the L67 is bulletproof * with proper maintainance *

Murdock'* example is a big testament to the durability of these motors. Very few could go through what his did. And all of that took over a year before it hit the road again.

Remember.. I"m not only the president in believing this engine are solid.. but I'm also a client
good ol memory lane commercials..

BAck on Topic.

Just cause the newer engines can produce more power per litre then ours doesn't mean it'* better.. it just means they will not last longer. We all know everything has a compromise. Performance or durability?? I think our L67'* are smack right in the middle of the compromise scale. WE have good performance with excellent durability..

I dare anyone * but will not be held accountable for * to take any other state of the art vroom vroom.. Nissan, Toyota, or any other kinda engine and go thru wat I did.. and tell me it'* still running.. or at least still running without major overhaul to the engine.

P.*. thanx for the support Don and Billl <---Mustafa

Yeah...yeah....yeahhhh....blah blah blah! Ok I stopped reading after page 1.

The only problem/flaw I can see with the L67 is the service the owner must do to the supercharger.

Wow, 32 responses. This site is the best compilation of members and help/response I have seen on the net, bar none.

Heres a link for you guys, only 5 hits on the Fiero forum but scroll down to the post by David Devoe, well worth your time. It would sound bad by some GM or 3.8 hater but it really just somes up some early problems in the development.

the upper intake problem is becuase of the location of the EGR. I bet if it was moved it would not be a problem.

My 97 does not use any oil, and it has 175k on it. I am going for 200 at least.
