The ZZP site claims the TB spacer for L67'* reduces KR, is this true and is it a worthy change? I remember talks of people simply wanting to block the coolent ports on the TB with a gasket.

The spacer still allows coolant up into the SC (stagnant flow but still there holding heat). The prefered method is to plug the coolant holes in either the upper intake or bottom of the SC. See my cam install thread for pictures of it.

I don't plan on digging that far down unless I must do a rebuild. Would the ZZP spacer be beneficial or should I just make a gasket for the TB?

I think there might be some heat advantages if it'* made out of the right stuff but I don't plan on getting one.

Side note, last Local GP meet, a member put one on and on the ride home blew the motor, aparently the spacer was fault or some how it leaked coolant into his intake and went into the motor and threw a rod. He was pissed.

Not trying to scare you or anything, but I could see a slight tempeture advantage with it.

A lot of people have done the spacer on clubgp with little problem. I don't think your going to see the same cooling effect as plugging the coolant holes and it may not be worth the time or money however, if you get to a point where you are trying everything you can think of to keep the engine cool to combat knock, it may be worth looking into but at that point my guess is you would be in the engine and could just plug the holes. It'* not very hard to pull of the supercharger, just make sure you have a new SC gasket.

What would be the best way to plug coolant passages? ANythign special, or just whatever fits but lets you clamp it on still.

Tapped the holes and used plugs with teflon tape flush to the lip. Check out my cam install thread for pics of it.

But Rogue reassured me with the pep talk of how everyone on clubgp is doing it without trouble.

Anyway, main reason I'm considering the spacer is I'm against KR (as any one of us should be) in a very harsh manner. And that dip in my G-tech graph may just be that...KR. Any little thing I can do to reduce KR is right up my ally.
