Default L27 throttle body mods

I'm wanting to play around with my 92 SE and since i put a new motor in it...i still have all the parts off the original motor. Would Trimming of the trottle plate shaft and counter sinking of the screws as done on the L36 TB have the same effect on a L27 motor?

You might want to do a search on this. There'* already two topics on it. One with regards to his results, one with regards to problems he encountered.

Problems I've encountered so far have NO evidence to support any relation to the TB itself. The problems are occuring with regard to my TCC Lockup, with throttle percentages around 1/4-1/3.

As of now it may be ignition related as I still have original Coil packs and ignition module, or TCC related. It doesn't do it when the car is still in closed loop mode, but once it'* warmer and warmer it appears more, and generally my car does seem to have much greater pickup when it'* not warmed up yet.

Then again, the modded TB'* strengths are the MUCH smoother airflow at part throttle, this will give more Air, and smoother air into each cyl. Maybe the TCC can't cope with the extra power when in lockup on my 148k mile car?

Tomorrow I plan on doing some more data logging runs to see any glaring differences between cold numbers, and warmed up numbers.

It should be noted I had a stored code 42 when we hooked up the laptop to the car the first time (still on Stock TB). We cleared it and it hasn't come back again.

alright.....i found your other 2 threads BonneMeMN (sorry for not searching first Bill W)
I'll see if i run into the same TCC problem you are having.... i also have an autoxray with the real time data scanning..might have to go on some good runs Wensday and Thrusday (i'm off both days).

I'll report back with any progress i'll get some pics together also.

Thanks again guys,

I would appreciate it greatly if you report back with progress, pics, etc. I too am in the process of some porting and polishing on my L27 (TB/LIM) but its going at a snails pace while I'm at school.....

Do it with a vertical endmill, or don't do it. There is no other way. If you go too thin, you'll have major problems.
