Are they a good bang for the buck mod or it it something that doesnt help unless other mods are done to the motor? do they work at all? Noticable?

It does what it claims to do, lower throttle body temperatures, but that will not gain you any power or reduce KR in any significant way. I just have one because it looks cool

I'm not so sure about reducing temps, if you are sitting in traffic a TB will heatsoak either way.

What they do accomplish is cutting off the coolant supply to the TB, this reduces the overall coolant flow from the rear head to the front head/thermostat. Potentially increasing temps at the rear head due to less flow of coolant. Also very common is the gasket leaking and filling the TB with coolant that then fills the cylinders and either burns off or hydrolocks the motor.

IMO they don't benefit enough over the risks to be worthwhile.

Raptor, You won't see any gains with a spacer. My father-in-law runs a machine center at a machine shop, got bored and made me one. Mine is 1 1/16" thick and the difference between my */c and tb after driving it is really hot and hot. The only thing it keeps cool is the underhood appearance of your car. The thickest you can buy is 3/4", mine is almost a 1/2" thicker than that and doesn't do anything noticable. Atleast it looks cool in between my black */c and tb

Not worth the cost, not worth the effort. No benefit.
