Worth the trouble and $$$?

Could I get this to do me some good with say $300 or $400 for any changes after I buy it? This is from a 92 and I have an 88. Oh, and what would have to be done?

easy answer:
no.
But it is possible to convert your LN3 to a L67...well not really but if you have a whole spare engine you can get it on there.
Then you have issues with the rest of the drivetrain since it is not designed to handle the extra torque.

It is entirely possible, however you will need WAY more than just the SC. Just for the top-end alone, and this is on the assumption that your current motor is in excellent shape (compression, bearing condition, etc.), you will need...
L27 or pre-96 L67 heads
S1 L67 intake mainifold
Maybe L27 exhaust mainifolds (easier to find than L67 in non-cracked condition)
Accessory drive
L67 harmonic balancer
ECU and harness (will need boost control)
Injectors and rail
Your transmission would probably give up the ghost before your engine will if you do this.
