Jet Stage 2 is in! 137mph
Just got the chip today, installed it, and hit the road. I could feel the extra power just pulling up to speed away from my house. Shift points are changed, both in normal shift and performance mode. Up about 500rpms or so. Shifts are firmer, and I feel more power throughout the band.
Oh, and I know what 137mph feels like. I also know what throwing a wheel weight coming back down through 120 feels like.
I borrowed a G-Tech meter from a friend who used to own an SHO, so I'll be running my times in the next couple days. The good news is I'll get this done before the ADTR intake goes on, so I'll be able to see what that does, too.

Hey will, Let me know what you get for times and what kind of improvement you have when you test it with the G meter. Awesome to hear the chip is working out. BTW, where did you get your 180 degree thermostat?? Thanks

Don't try this at home kids. Take my word for it, and Turtle'*, the Jet Stage 2 REMOVES the top end limit. 137 mph is spooky. The drievtrain will do it, but the handling wasn't intended for that speed. I have wide-open country roads where I can see for miles, and it was STILL a helluva risk. Huge difference between 110 and 137 in handling. The front end of the car gets really light at about 120. Major spooky O **** factor above that.
Buckman, I ran a stock PCM until today. Don't mess around with the stage 1. You'll just mod later, and wish you'd bought the stage 2. Jet recommends Intake, exhaust, and 180° thermostat before stage 2. I'd add an additional tranny cooler first, too. Protect the investment.
Pontiac1983, any auto parts store that knows what they're doing should be able to cross-reference the proper thermostat to a 180°. Don't forget the rubber seal while you're there. Then go to the Pontiac Dealer and get the gasket. Most auto parts stores won't stock it.
Turtle, break a leg. You take it. You can have the crown back! I like my car and the father of my kids to well to do that again.....at least until I get new tires!
Cny.....what'* it feel like? VERY spooky above 115-120. Butt-pucker spooky. One little rock could ruin your whole day, or a thrown tire weight.

Just wait for your intake. The car will keep pulling faster and faster at higher rpm'*. That is what it'* desinged for, low end torque and high end power.

Just wait till we get some Domestic Performance lowering springs, (I am convincing SpeedyGuy to do progressive rate so they can match...) the hopefully if it works out well ADTR Koni Ajustable Struts, ADTR Engine Brace/Strut Tower Bar, ADTR Sway Bars, that will help with your 137MPH walking woes since the car is lifting up. And perhaps a carbon fiber hood with heat extractors and ram air scoops to increase the air velocity through the intake more and cool the air charger and well as air cool the rest of the engine compartment. Still love me now? I have more ideas up my sleeve. Want to go turbo Willwren, easily more effecient, is cheap (I have connections) with an Spearco air-to-air intercooler that two times larger than your radiator so the air entering your intake would be around 100 degress with 15 lbs of boost. We can crank approx 400HP easily out of that, spool you buy 2500 RPM and have you running low 12'* easily on slicks and you can compete with BadSSEi. I am a little crazy and so is my partner. Wait till I do my Caddy 500 engine stroked to 570 Cubic Inches, put a 101mm turbo on it, and make 1000HP 91 octance pump gas, and put it in a small car. Sound stupid, I thought so. But right now also working on my Bonneville for suspension and preparing for the 100k anniversary present for my car and my 396 Big Block Chevy (402 cubic inches right now, probably go another .30 over) that will either be turboed or have a 200-300HP nitrous shot since I am converting it to a 4bolt main block this Thursday.
