180 degree thermostat?
hi i live in maine, where its cold alot, and i was wondering if i should do that 180 degree thermostat swap? if it would be worse/better? thanks

well the only real difference to you will be that the heater will not blow as hot. And you being in Maine, I'm not sure if you really value your heat.
If you have an L36, it will lower the temp of the coolant in the UIM, delaying warping/failure.

I have a 93 SSEi - no mods.
I see a lot of talk about the 180 thermostat. Are there any issues with throwing codes with the lower temp thermostat? Any open / closed loop issues? Can I simply change to the 180?

Yes, you can change to a 180* t-stat with no issues whatsoever.
Next time you may want to start a fresh topic though instead of pulling up an older one like this so you get your question right to the top.
