has anyone used an octane booster in their SSEi when using regular gas? The only mod is an 3.4 pulley.Oh and the plugs were changed to 2 steps cooler then stock autolite.

With a Fender well intake or cold air intake you should be ok without adding Octane boost.
Depend also what gas you can get, premium 92 octane is ok.
lower than that you can add octane boost if you want.
I use 94 octane gas.
Is it because you get KR?

octante boost is junk... on the bottle they say they increase octane by 1 point...
say you have 93 octane and you add a bottle.. .you now have 93.1 octane... JUNK
just fill up with the highest you can get

As already stated, one point is indeed POINT 1. 0.1
Get unleaded race gas if you want to, but you probably need to dilute it. Too high of an octane can hurt you as well as too low.
Or use Toluene. I've succesfully mixed and run 98 octane with it, although my best results were around 95 octane from a performance standpoint (this was previous to my last hectic round of major changes).

The only fuel additives that will increase octane and power, and reduce KR are the ones made by Klotz. I have been using Klotz products since 1975. Most of their additives contain Nitropropane.
The Klotz Nitro Power Additive and CoOx Power Additive will show power gains in the dyno; I know, I have tested them and seen the results.

If you do not have a cat converter, then you can use the Klotz HiTRATE Racing Gasoline Concentrate. HiTRATE will convert unleaded gasoline into leaded racing gasoline, but, it can clog the cat converter.

Klotz products are the #1 brand used by Go-Kart and Off-Road Motorcycle racers, and by gasoline powered R/C racers.
Also, the following link is an article from HotRod Magazine on the use of Nitropropane, actual dyno testing, and also what happens to an engine if you get too carried away.

Sorry I don't agree that all octane boosters are snake oil.
I have been using Octane 104 Race formula with max MMT. I makes a noticeable difference in my Firebird the way I have it tuned now.
......I snuck some into the Bonne last 2 years at Woodburn.
Race fuel is better but not practical for every day use.
I will be bringing a few bottles of 'snake oil' with me to supplement the 91 octane during the 10 hour trip to Oregon.
