Intake... whistle or whine
hey i just installed my intake and the noise coming from it at around 2500 rpm is more of a high pitched whistle than i whine. I was reading the CAI thread and it seems to me that its supposed to be a whine. Anyone elses sound like mine? if so what did u do to fix it
by the way i got the k&n filter too so that shouldnt be the problem...i hope

you are not supercharged...you wont hear that kind of supercharger whine. What your hearing is probably about right. Did you build a heatshield?
Thanks,
Andrew

Being not supercharged, you're not gonna get much whine. What noises you do get could vary, some whistling wouldn't suprise me. You could take off the intake and see if anything is caught in the MAF screen.

Also if you did a "rice pipe," there is usually ports for different sensors for the Honda it was originally made for. If this is the case, and you did not plug them, now would be a good time to do so.

well im goin outside right now to take it off and check the MAF screen, is it a good idea to remove it, ive heard of some people trying that, i bought the k&n filter from pep boys and it doesnt have the hole for the sensor, the wire wouldnt reach anyways, I used the hole already in the pipe for the sensor, i got it to fit.
im gonna build a heat sheild when i get my paycheck which will be monday so ill let u guys know if it will work, i also have a insurance payment due on monday so hopefully i have some money left over. i pay 280 a month so its kind of costly(im only 17)

I'm not a believer in removing the MAF screen unless you have lots of supporting mods like exhaust, supercharger, nos, etc that could make the screen flow-limiting.
