Need opinions on mods (one more ?)
My 2001 SLE is ready for performance upgrades, & ive been reading diffrent post that I think might be helpful to me. What I need now is to check my notes with those of you that are good giving advice.
What Ive done so far:
New battery
belts
fluids
filters
INTENSE level 1 kit (new sparks & cables)
& Super Turbos in the back.
What I was thinking that might help me the most:
porting the LIM
Hi-flow cat
rockers
shift kit
& headers
My questions are:
do I need to get a new reprogramed PCM?
wich is the best shift kit for my aplication?
who makes headers for my engine?
wich hi-flow cat is the best for me?
will it help me or hurt me to remove the resonator?
& is there something else that Im mising or something that might help me more thatn what I have in the list?
thanks for your time guys

Reporgrammed pcm is recommended by most. It really helps if you take your car to track or street performance for sticky siuations. ZZP mostly carries everything you are looking for including pcm

IIRC INTENSE'* PCM'* are a little better suited for the Bonne. I'd go Magna flow on the Cat, removing the resinator wont hurt, but it also might not help.
your biggest gain will be if you do the INTENSE FWI and MPS pulley system and drop a size or two

You don’t need a reprogrammed PCM but it certainly won’t hurt performance. But you could hold off till later if you plan more engine modifications.
There are a few shift kits available from Intense, Trans Go & Thrasher, etc. The best one for you depends on your transmission, power level, how firm you want your shifts. I have the Intense shift kit and I love it & it also comes with everything you need.
Headers? TOG (The Other Guys Exhaust), SLP, Pacesetter makes headers for the 3800. I have the TOG’* which I like but I had to cut and re-weld the flange where the crossover dumps into the rear header. I’ve also heard others having trouble with proper alignment out of the box with the TOGs. If I had to suggest a header I’d suggest going with the SLP headers.
The only thing removing the resonator will do is give your exhaust note an annoying raspiness. Although it wakes up your exhaust note at idle it gets old pretty quick in my opinion.

Thanks to all for the reply.
I have an Intense PCM that came in the Performance 1 kit, it also has the FWI and the thermostat. What I was asking is that if I install rokers, headers, & all of the other stuff I want to do... Do I need to get an other PCM from Intense? or the one I have is enough?

I believe it was established that you are n/a, right?
If you do decide to get a new PCM, you would be a perfect candidate for stepping up to 3.29 gearing with a Grand Prix GT differential:

(Shameless plug for item I'm selling )
What is your gearing now, BTW? Just tell the vendor you've changed your gearing, and they should be able to make the appropriate programming changes.
As to what will do you best, a cam would do far more for you than rockers (especially with headers), though it'* certainly more work to install.

Shorter gears will reduce mileage, yes. I would anticipate by 2 to 3 mpg'*, depending on your current ratio. The price of performance, eh?
Intense should be able to retune for 3.29 gearing without much trouble. It would be nothing more difficult than a cut-and-paste of the transmission tables from a GPGT.
