91 Se, Engine swap to a L67
I have been looking around and seen many post this. But for the very few who have, what do you think? I emailed Sinister Performance about doing mine, but would like some feed back on the end product. I am willing to spend the $$$$ if I will like what I get.

We are opening our site soon and we are focusing on swaps, or at least thats were all our testing is going at the moment.
You will need the complet drivetrain, wiring, PCM(custom), axles(custom), trans, engine....
We have 4-5 swapped w-bodies, if you would like some pictures, check out the website and email Wes Stone. He can answer any questions pertaining to a swap, he has a lot more knowledge than I do about swaps .
Good luck either way, it is one of the best mods you can do IMHO.

I needed no custom parts at all. The subframe, control arms, steering rack and tie rods, engine, trans, axles, spindles rotors and calipers were all out of the 97 donor and bolted right in. Essentially this in the entire front end of the car less the struts. The PCM is the stock 97 and only required the VATS module hardwired. I also used the fuel tank, pump and lines from the 97 donor so I wouldn't have to fabricate or splice any fuel components. I swapped over all of the AC components including the evap core so everything would just bolt right up.
As for the wiring, make sure you get the factory service manuals for both the 91 and whatever donor car you decide on.

As you can see from the post above, no custom stuff was necessary. These aren't close cousins we're talking about, they're brothers in a car sense. If you're thinking about doing swaps and offering guidance, it'* best to know your p'* and q'*.

Thats why I directed him to Wes Stone, he knows a lot more about the swaps than I do.
I can do the w-bodies in my sleep now. In time I'm sure I will learn more about the Bonne'*, but they are a bit costly just to buy one and "play with".
From what we have seen, just because the parts "fit" doesnt meen it "fits" correctly. For example-the stock axles DO fit in a W-body swap. But if you plan on beating on it the stock axles dont allow enough clearance and end up popping the differential. Or if you plan on lowering the car, the "play" just isnt there.

On Randys car he found that the subframe bolt locations were identical to the 97 he was pulling the entire subframe and the like from... It had the same dimensions all the way through.. He had asked me if the 90-91 had the same measurements as the 97... I jush happened to have both the 91 and 97 manuals... and sure enough they were the same.. Randy'* 90 SSE even had the threaded bolt holes for the Torque axis mount.. The entire subframe, axles, 4T65-E HD and 3800 II SC all went right in... But the wiring was another story

Thats honestly very surprising that all the dimensions are the same, especially wheel hub distance.
As most GM vehicles that house a V6 can have a 3800 bolt right up (Grand Am reguires a little more work, due to the driver'* side sideways mont). But as we know most those dimensions are different.
We also just got done with a OBD-1 swap this weekend (actually yesterday) and we had many issues with the pcm throwing codes, evap, ac, ect. Mainly just the items that OBD-2 doesnt understand.
Only reason I say that is (if I read his sig correctly) its going in a OBD1 car, and just pointing out possible issues. We WILL NOT mod a PCM unless its done in house or brought to us, and if a PCM vendor is smart they shouldnt do a swap PCM via mail/email either. Again, just pointing out possibilities
