Grrr, so this new air filter might actually cause problems for me....?

It states:

Brand New GEN II Chrome (Polished) Air Intake Kit Engineered Specifically for:

2) Pontiac Bonneville - 3.8L (1997 - 2003)

*Will fit the Supercharged Series II Motor too.

So it should still work right?

It will fit, but you will probably need a Casper'* IAT harness extension because our IAT harnesses are super short from the factory.

Check www.intense-racing.com for it under "electronics".

to save money, could you splice in and just extend it, or is that gonna mess ohm'* up or something?

I always worried about messing up the ohms, I did it on my 94 and it seemed ok. But if you wanna be anal and be perfect, spend a few bucks for an extension.

So I HAVE to get this extender or is there a way I can somehow fit it in by moving it in the right spot?

Also will different brands of filters give a different sort of sound? I'm looking for something that will really make it loud, and sound like a breathing beast. The current one I have in is an Intemidator filter from NAPA. Is there any brands you would recommend? (K&N Proably )

Rage, if the intake kit doesn't quite fit into your setup, take up the issue with the seller before you buy any additional parts. The auction text clearly states (as you posted) that it will fit a 97-03 Bonneville, and doesn't mention anything about needing any extra parts. It'* the sellers responsiblilty to correctly represent the product... at the very least, you can probably get a refund if it doesn't fit and you don't want to spend extra for an extension.

He clearly stated to me that IT WILL FIT, and he assured me of it before I pressed the pay button. So now it'* on it'* way, so only time can tell now. :?
