trying to prepare for a top swap. and would like to cover all bases, before it becomes a problem.

i plan to have the fuel trims adjusted via gmtuners. i know i need a new FPR. i plan to use the 2.5 in pulley.

but im a little concerned about the egr tube. i know the gen 3 has a larger egr tube, so what do i use there?

is there anything else i will have to look out for?

Drill out your pedestal base to accept the larger tube.

You'll need an extra SC-to-LIM bolt that is the same length as the rest. The 92-93 had one long one that went away.

The TB to cruise cable may be out of adjustment when you put the larger TB on. Pay attention to it.

You don't want the 94/95 FPR. Keep yours if GMtuners adjusts your fuel trims. You better know how much they need to shift (get a wideband, log data, then tell him how much).

I used the smaller EGR tube and simply cut a gasket. It worked for me, didn't work for John.

Your throttle cables/connections may bind on the stock Throttle Bracket. Use the 94/95 bracket, not your stock one.

Your SC cover won't fit that one either. You'll have to get the cover from the car you get the throttle bracket from.

Your IAC and TPS will work. Your MAF sensor will NOT. You must get one from a 94/95.

I'll probably think of more later, but I'll warn you that this isn't easy, and it'* not a picnic. If this were my daily driver, I wouldn't do it.

i have about 3 or 4 set of bolts, so im good there.

and leave the 93 FPR, ok.

now with the egr that is stock on the 94-94 L67s, is the tube the same diameter on both ends? or is the base side, larger than the sc side?

bc, the end of the egr tube (on the 93)that goes to the egr base, fits snug in the gen 3 sc.

does anyone happen to have a 94-95 egr tube off, that wouldn't mind taking a measurment?

i measured mine and the sc side was about .500 and the egr plate side was about .640

as mentioned above, the .640 fits nicely in the gen 3.

I do, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter. Use the 93 EGR and tube. Cut a gasket like this:

I've re-used that gasket twice since install, and intend to again. I have zero leaks, and the system works fine.

what about the fwi fabrication. any incite on that? i found a smooth walled duct the was 3 in at a local hardware store. it was rated for 600 deg F. but the smallest quantity to order was 25 ft. and it was about 10 buck a foot. does home depot have something that will work? ive never looked for it there.

Why waste your time and money on a custom 3" FWI for the Gen2 top end if you're planning a Gen3 swap?

I assume "when the time comes" is the Gen3 swap? If that'* the case, then you order the 3.5" FWI after the swap.
