hmm. I did a quick tally of parts that I suggested and it comes out to 1443 bucks, not too shabby. I think the hp gains would be upwards of maybe 30? I'm still doing more research, I'm trying to find the best real world combination because the car will be everyday driver so gotta keep it real.

The custom mods on my car gained about 30hp at the wheels, and the parts cost less. Man... I need to get a cost tally, eh? Doug and I will sit down tonight and do some figuring, right after we finish the straight shot exhaust setup (which is another thing you can do for your car ).

How did I get involved in this? I happen to have a 97 L36 cam in my garage waiting to be reground. I'm playing with desktop dyno to get an idea of what the effects will be. I understand that it'* not very precise, but it'* a start. Next step will be getting Ben to let me put it in his car.

You aint touching my stick. or going to stick that cam in my car. .
Seriously, I don't like messing with the heads, meaning porting them. I would rather do bolt on things.
Interested in seeing your tally, don't go rounding down!!!

Before you get too serious you need to figure out how fast you want your car to go and what you want to spend. I would recommend starting out with little things and moving up from there. Intake, exhaust, PCM. Then rockers, pems/headers, etc... Maybe some ud pulleys.
For an L36 you definately don't want 1.9'*. You want to go with ER rockers or SR rockers, or maybe 1.8'*. 1.9'* are too big for the L36'*.
If you go with a cam, I would seriously suggest looking at ZZP cams. As was said, nobody has really had much success with Intense N/A cams for whatever reason other than Wes. There are quite a few GT'* running ZZP cams that run quite well. And if you go with a GT1 you won't have to get gears or a tq. convertor either (although they wouldn't hurt) like are recommended for all the other L36 cams.
But like I said it all depends on how fast you want to go.
