Hey yall if you do this... just for my kicks... wouldya take a knife and engrave BMS on it somewhere? Could even be tiny and inside somewhere....That would be jsut cool of ya (note: not req'd i thought itd be fun to be a "part" of y'alls fun )

HAHAHA... gues what scared my mom half outta her wits today... from the freezer: "CRRRRRRRAAAAAACCCCCCCCK"..... Back to the shop far yet ANOTHER peice of pipe and a few less HUGE rubberbands. and im gonna spray the inside with grease or something so it will slide...Anyone else have any luck?

Haha... yea yea i knew it expanded but i put too many rubberbands on.. i need less of um fo it to have less pressure while expanding...

dude. ice isnt going to work wrapped around the outside. the most air is going to move in the middle of the pipe. you're cooling the outside. plus figuring the flow is 1500cfm you'd need a delta T of some where near -10K. not possible.

Elaborate on why it won't work. The goal is to get the air to cool down from what it is at ambiant temps. The idea being that if we can more the air over a colder surface that the temps can be lowerd and made a little denser that we may see an improvement in quarter mile / 1/8th mile times. I don't think it'll cool all the air going in the tube, but it may bring it down significantly on a consistent basis. I've not had a chance to test this as most of the tracks in the area are hosting major events. So it may be another month before I can try this and start working up data.
