SC'ing my N/A Bonneville
NO its not the question that'll have Wilwren posting a link to a TechInfo article and locking my thread, hopefully.
Ok so last weekend at the Track i was made an offer for an SSEi, same year and color combo as mine.
I went to have a look at it, looks like a P.O.*. for the most part, most everything I want is there regarding the passenger side stuff is good except the rear door quarter window is smashed, though i have two of those. if you remember I ended up with the 'not so bright white' when i replaced me passenger side not too long ago. so there is one major selling point for me. the roof majorly dented as well as the hood (almost looks like someone jumped on it repeatedly), interior looks fair aside from the drivers seat has some wear on it, dash is half taken apart.
the other selling point is well, its an SSEi, therefore the supercharger. The guy said it ran fine until something on the bottom end screwed up, oil line came loose or oil pump went bad, it wasn't taken care of soon enough or something along those lines...
anyway $300 for the entire car. So i most likely will have this thing sitting in the back yard next to the '83 Ranger and two '67 cougars and my other hood.
so back to my original intent with this thread:
Basically what all would i need to transfer to supercharge my SSE, i'd like a list...
Both cars are '93. He said 180k on the car, the SC was rebuilt at 120k, top end was all good. i think he said the tranny was good. If i do this I do intend to rebuild it and go through everything clean it up, not just swapping crap and half arseing it.

Well, you already have the FE2...that is one less thing to worry about.
You would have to swap the PCM and harness over. As far as transmissions go, you have options open. You can either swap in the HD trans as is, or frankenstein the both of them (migrate the HD diff to your current trans) and keep the lower gearing you are used to, though the PCM may scoff at that.
I can't see any reason why it couldn't be done. Though you will be down a car until the job is complete and dialed in.

First of all, I only lock topics that get overheated.
Second of all, a FULL SWAP which is what you're asking about is the second best alternative suggested here.
Back on topic, there won't be a wiring harness change. The only custom wiring involved will be for the MAP sensor, and that'* only if you want a boost gauge. I suggest an aftermarket mechanical gauge.
Engine, trans, and PCM. Axles as well.

I was thinking about the full swap but im not totally sure whats wrong with his, i just know mine is good.
i know i'd be down a car i'll do if over da summer, and we have plenty of vehicles at the house for me to take over, just none of them get the millage the bonneville does .
I was thinking after market boost gauge, on a pillar pod, and just maybe one that has the same increments as the stock boost gauges have so i could cut out the face of it and it'll match.
Dad seems interested in the offer, problem is convincing my mom to let another 'heap of crap' sit in the back yard...

from what i understand after reading how to supercharge an LN3 with the 95 supercharger (same as 93 only coated rotors) you will need the lower intake manifold, the supercharger, probably the balancer, pretty much the entire pulley setup, PCM, maybe the heads. I am only going off what someone did to supercharge their LN3 with the 95 */c. I think this would be a much easier swap since its series1 L67 to L27 instead of L67 to LN3. Ah yes....the knock sensors are in different locations between L27 and L67. L27 is under the front exhaust mani...L67 is under the rear one, close to the oil pressure sender. Oh...and the L67 uses 2 temp senders, so that will have to be taken into consideration.
Dirtracr, I think Booze is going to do the full swap, not just the top swap. His trans will not handle the power increase a top-swap-only job will bring, unless he beefs up the diff.

well until i found out exactly what the problem is on the L67 i'm not sure what i'll do (Top end & HD swap vs. everything)
