Ok, so my car will probably need front struts soon. The rears were replaced when I got the car, and it'* only had 15k since then. But I need opinions on what I should do for the front.

Should I go with stock replacements or are KYB-GR2'* worth the extra money?

Also, what is the part number I would need for the GR-2s?

IIRC, Bill W. has KYB'* on his and likes them. I also know that a few here have Monroe SensaTracs and like them too.

I may need to start considering the same question one of these days soon.

I have Gabriel up front, and Monroe Reflex on the rear. And inarguably classed as the best-handling Bonneville by all members who have driven it. Further suspension mods are not extensive or expensive.

Monroe Sensatrac would be what I suggest for the front. They are the handling EQUAL to KYB GR-2.

i would suggest not Monro'*.. Try some other somes.
Now that i know how a Real FE2 setup with CCR feels. Monro'* do not compare at all.

But if monro'* are you only choice then go with them. They are good struts

Since my car is a 93 and CCR has no bearing on my car, I think I might look into the Monroe'* that he has since they are proven. Would like some other'* opinions as well. i was also going to look into the gabriel'* if I can figure out what the equivalent ones are to the sensatrac'*.

The GR-2'* are like $150 plus shipping I have found, which is a little much for what I want to do also.

What other suspension mods are recommended? I am going to get the end-link parts with this also. What about the Sway bar center bushings? Details on that?

Monroe'* are FAR BETTER than CCR. I have BOTH for comparison. Monroe takes the handling and ride hands down.

I have both also Wren and my FE2 on my Se is Brand New and my 96,000 mile SSEi with CCR Handles WAY better

Well, I think this arguement is better left out of this thread since I do not have CCR, so even if CCR is better, that does me squat.

So far, I have one good review of the Monroe Sensatracs.

Badnit, if you would like to enlighten me on what you have on your Non-CCR car, then i will consider that as well.

But far as the Monro'* in my SE. I like them After riding in other Non CCR SSEi'* i think it handles almost the same. They give a nice smooth ride and when you start going Fast and start pounding the corners and Bumps they get stiffer and hold the road.

I think for the price, availability and ride they are the best bang for the Buck

My 95 SLE/SC with FE2, ELC, and CCR (working) doesn't even come CLOSE to comparing to my SSEi with Monroe'*, in spite of the SLE being a lighter car. There is no comparison whatsoever, and every one at WCBF each year will tell you the same. They are two TOTALLY different cars.

Bandit has to remember that he'* got a car with the performance steering rack that is skewing his 'feeling' in corners. The SE doesn't have that luxury.
