New Upgrades for Old Bonnie...

New Upgrades for Old Bonnie...
I've been in possession of a 1993 Bonneville SE for a couple years now. The car has 191k miles and still does well. There seems to be a slight random loss of power in overdrive. It'* more noticeable up inclines and usually at 55+. This isn't A/C related. It does it when the A/C is off.
Also, I drive 250-500 miles per day with my job. I'm looking for ideas to increase fuel efficiency. The problem that I've been running into is that a lot of upgrades I've found on this site seem to be unavailable for my car. Example: Intense FWI lists as available for '97+ only.
If anyone has any information on parts/upgrades that are available (or ideas on stopping the power loss) for an older Bonnie I would greatly appreciate the input.
Many Thanks,
Brian

oh and a fwi will take you about 4 years to pay off with the mpg you save. maybe longer...the only 'real' solution is a smaller engine, in a car that weighs less.

again i'm really trying not to be a downer but anything you do to the car other then decreasing it'* weight is going to cost more then it saves. i mean you can always fillup the tires to like 50psi so there is less contact area and make sure all maintenance is done that will help too...if you really want to save buy an 4 banger import and drive her into the ground. not the most attractive but the mpg are insane.

Thanks for the response. I can see your point about the cost effectiveness of upgrades, etc. Considering the age and sheer weight of the car it actually gets pretty good mileage. I'll peruse the site more and get ideas on where I should be maintaining it. Plugs, filters, oil, etc are things I considered common knowledge. It was until reading this site that I noticed MAF, o2 sensor and other things that should regularly be maintained.
Again, Thanks.
Again, Thanks.
