Great deal.
If I had just waited a few months, I would have saved $100.

You can probably expect about 10-15 hp gain and a definite boost in driveability all the way up to 150+ mph.

I really like mine.

It'* about 3 hp per degree of timing + change in air/fuel mapping.
This biggest change I noticed is the ability to downshift to 1st gear when you are cruising at city speeds. It'* a real tire spinner. You will need an Lsd after that.

I'm not so sure that I would be installing an INTENSE PCM right now, even if they gave it to me. With the DOZENS of blow motors on ClubGP in the last month or so that have all been on lightly modded cars (actually they seem to all have very similar mods to yours) with Intense PCM'* I think I would let that problem work itself out before getting one...but thats just me. The added 3* of timing would add ~6hp, plus the different fuel tables, higher limiters, skipshifts, downshifts at higher speeds, it has a lot of added benefits that might HELP you get to 13'*, but 13'* aren't guarunteed. I'm doubting that with the few mods that you have that you'll be able to add those extra 3 degrees though, I have a feeling you're just gonna get KR. I would invest in a scantool before modding much further also...KR is your enemy and a scantool is a lot cheaper than a new engine.

Well, it'* already ordered. I have 7 days to return it if I don't like it. I'll be driving it around a lot during that period.

EDIT: But I've heard so many good things about this. And I have all the recommended supporting mods.

Since I used to have the DHP PCM and now I have swapped over to the INTENSE, I notice that the INTENSE shift points are lower by 100 rpm, 5900 vs 6000, and it does not down shift as easily.
The big benefit of the INTENSE is the torque management seems to be gone. Big benefit.
The trani fluid pressure is reduced a bit too, so the shifts are not quite as harsh as the DHP......better fit with the shift kit.
Fuel mileage is slightly better too and that is with the change from 3.4 to 3.3 SC pulley.

It'* noticeable in the seat of the pants, without a scan tool.

The torque management might be a big part of the difference, and also I would imagine the few degrees of timing is too. But you have to remember that you are more modded than he is. You have headers...headers themselves make a HUGE difference. (as I'm sure you know because I'm sure you looked at the pitiful excuse for exhaust manifolds that are on these) I'm not saying the INTENSE isn't a good PCM, I'm just thinking I wouldn't put one in until I see how this problem works out, and I also don't think that added timing on the base PCM is a good idea. (and could be part of the problem with the PCMs) A lot of people get a PCM to get rid of KR, not to add more of it. I also think that due to all of the torque management on the Bonnies, that the INTENSE might be a better choice for the SSEi, but I'm not so sure about the GTP. I guess he already ordered it so what can he do, but all these posts about blown engines are worrying me. Thats what i would do in that position. I don't think I would buy either PCM at this point. I think I would wait and do some other mods first to give this problem time to get worked out. I guess its too late for that now though.

Sol, I honestly hope you have good luck with the PCM and that it gives you nice gains, just trying to let you know of potential problems that I would be worrying about in your position.

You got links to these blown engine issues? I'd like to do some read ups and I'm sure a few of us would like to observe what they work out the problem to be

Look at recent posts on club gp, it shouldn't take you long to find these posts. I haven't been keeping track of them 'cause I'm not really worried about it, but I know the problem is there.

Maybe I am looking in the wrong places .... do you have links to these threads?

You got me all worried now. You've always given me good advice in the past, so I trust what you say, so I am really going to look in to this.

I've heard so many great things about both Intense and DHP PCM'*, and people with similar mods as I have had no problems. But if engines are blowing up, I need to read about it.
